Here is a list of the many resources, tools, and equipment that we use to bring our Renovation Semi-Pro blog to life!
Physical Equipment
Canon EOS 6D Mark II – Our first full-frame camera (we upgraded from, don’t laugh, a camera phone) — and basically this is the best camera ever! The EOS 6D Mark II DSLR Camera from Canon makes high-performance full-frame imaging more accessible and images look incredible! In addition to shooting full-frame, this camera shoots excellent HD video.
Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens – From wide-angle to short telephoto, the EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens is useful in many shooting applications. We keep this lens on for most of our shots.
Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone – This mic is simple, lightweight, and reliable! Rode VideoMicro is a camera-mounted shotgun microphone that works GREAT for vlogging.

We use Bluehost to host our WordPress site, but they also offer domain name searches and purchases too!17th Avenue Designs – Our current WordPress theme is from 17th Avenue Designs. These are beautifully and thoughtfully designed themes with all the features you could ever want/need. We recommend 17th Avenue Designs on our “How to Start a DIY Blog” page too!
Mailchimp – We use Mailchimp to manage our email marketing campaigns. If you’re just getting started they have great free programs. And, if you’re way ahead in the email game, they have robust programs to increase your subscriber base!
