Terms of Use, Disclosures, and Privacy Policy
Renovation Semi-Pros (also referred to as RSP herein) is written by Chris and Melissa Metzger, home owners who are not actual ‘professionals’.
We are not licensed contractors. Rather, we are lovers of all things DIY and big fans of saving money by tackling home renovation projects ourselves. What is presented on this website is what has worked for us. This does not necessarily mean it will work for you too. Neither Renovation Semi-Pros, Chris, nor Melissa can be held responsible for your outcomes. Please do your research, exercise due diligence, and abide by all local building codes. Also, SAFETY FIRST!
All content on this site is owned by and copyrighted to Renovation Semi-Pros, unless otherwise noted. For photography or images, use of one image is permitted, but it must be properly attributed to our site and linked back to our original post. No image overlays, watermarks, or other editing of images or photographs is permitted. Pinning or re-pinning images is permitted, so long as a link back to the content on our site is included. Using multiple images is prohibited without prior authorization. Please contact Chris or Melissa Metzger if you are looking to use more than a single image.
For text content, including instructions, supply lists, and our commentary, please do not copy/paste our work. Instead, please link to our site or paraphrase our work. Google is not keen on content re-use, so we can be penalized if our own work is used elsewhere. We work hard to keep our content fresh and (somewhat) entertaining, so please be kind.
Renovation Semi-Pros uses banner advertisements and affiliate links, which are managed via a third-party vendor. If you click on a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission. However, there is no additional cost to you. Any partnerships or collaborations are clearly disclosed where applicable. However, our commentary is always our own. Chris and Melissa are proponents of honesty and transparency, and err on the side of full disclosure.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why
Comments & Contact Forms
Your privacy is very important to us. So, RSP aims to be transparent with how we use your information. If visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Rules of thumb for commenting – just be kind. If you are rude, nasty, self-promoting, or otherwise not neighborly, we reserve the right to remove your comment. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content
Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
