So….we sold the Forest House!! We put the house on the market in February and it went under contract in just a few days. Cue all the emotions and emojis. We’ve already gone through and felt them all several times.
Over the past three years, we’ve poured so much love into this home with our many projects, along with our dreams, many long hours, and plenty of sweat. And although the neighborhood, community, and neighbors are truly awesome, we are ready to move on to our next home and next project!
The even BIGGER news? We’ve already purchased our newest house…cough…project!
If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, you know we live and breathe renovations. But our renos are also the homes we live in with our family too. So, our newest reno will be a little bit unusual for us.
It’s WAY older, needs WAY more work, and will mean we need to learn a LOT of new DIY skills to bring it into this century.
Here’s a sneak peek at our newest project…errr house!
So, it is not exactly move-in ready, but we think it has so much potential!
Once we got past the abundance of wallpaper, the overwhelming cabin-like feel, and the need for an entirely new kitchen, we could see what we appreciate in the house.
For example, we love the 70-year-old solid white oak floors throughout the house – that are in GREAT shape, the solid construction, and the huge flat and usable acreage. The house is also located in a very walkable community, close to parks, community gardens, and other lovely historic homes.
Needless to say, now that we’ve sold our house and bought a new one, we have so much more to share! We’ve already begun planning for all the things, and we’ll start posting about it very soon.
Until then, we’ll leave you with a closeup of the kitchen wallpaper, just so you can dream a little with us!
